Washington-Lee Athletic Boosters are family and friends of W-L student athletes. Boosters pay an annual $25 family membership fee. These fees and money raised from concession sales at home games and meets are used to pay for grant requests submitted by coaches throughout the year. Boosters work closely with DSA Carol Callaway to ensure adequate resources are available to support student athletes and coaches. Grant requests are considered bi-monthly at Booster meetings, held at 7PM in the Alumni Conference Room. Boosters and coaches are welcomed to attend these meetings. What we fund: Boosters pay for coaches’ clinics. Camp scholarships, league fees, meet entrance fees, senior night souvenirs, varsity letters, and athletic awards. Booster purchases include monogrammed tents for use at outdoor sports competitions, industry-standard concussion monitoring equipment requested by the Athletic Trainer Andrea Paight, the ice machine located in the Athletic Trainer’s office, the batting cage for the softball team, the new W-L logo on the athletic field, furniture and banners for the new gymnasium, and other items requested by coaches and/or DSA Carol Callaway. Athletic Boosters are a committee of the W-L PTA. Each year, the Boosters join the W-L PTA Family Support Network to present a forum on the college athletic recruitment process to inform parents and student athletes about preparation, procedures, and trends for college recruitment. Every dollar raised supports the W-L athletic program. To join the Boosters: Complete the attached membership form, include your check, and return it to the W-L office.
