Usage Guidelines

Books circulate for three weeks. A school library account is required to borrow books which may be obtained from your school library. Administrative personnel can obtain a library account from the Professional Library.
 


The Professional Library Offers

  • Current titles in the field of education, including educational reform, and special subjects such as bilingual education, special needs populations and curriculum topics for  classroom teaching
  • Professional journals - Over 60 titles from American Educational Research Journal to Your School and The Law
  • An ACORN catalog terminal with access to professional educational reference databases
  • Publishers' preview books for children's and young adult literature
  • Current textbooks in the adoption cycle for teachers and community members to review
  • Files of all APS school management plans, school profiles, and current technology plans
  • Info-Files from Educational Research Services (ERS) which provide an overview and general understanding of professional information and thinking on specific educational topics or issues
The Professional Library encourages all Arlington school staff to call us to request items from the collection - we will checkout and send items to them in the school mail.
